Cambodia Announces Global IT Competition for Young People with Disabilities

PHNOM PENH: The General Secretariat of the Disability Action Council is organizing a global IT competition for young people with disabilities. The Secretariat made this announcement on Thursday, 6 April 2023, calling on all youth with disabilities to participate.

Young people with disabilities between the ages of 14 to 23 (before 24 October 2023) are eligible to participate in the competition. All aspiring contestants must have permission from their family, guardians and schools to participate in the training and competitions (both national and international, online and in person), must be able to communicate in English, must have the appropriate computer skills and must also have access to a computer or smartphone.

To learn more about the competition dates and where to apply, interested individuals and institutions can contact the General Secretariat of the Disability Action Council located within the Ministry of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation.

The final round of the competition will take place from 24-29 October 2023 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

Cambodian youth with disabilities most recently won bronze medals at the Global Information Technology Competition for Youth with Disabilities, held in Seoul, Republic of Korea in 2022.
